We had lunch which was served quickly and piping hot. The food was lovely and good portion. A comprehensive menu and a nice looking daily specials board, especially if you like a fish dish.

Had a lovely family meal. The food was lovely and came out very quickly. Friendly service. Feels a bit special at the Lion. Was quite hard to hear as it got full. Would recommend and go again. Thanks

The vegan and vegetarian options are VERY, VERY poor for the standard of this type of restaurant. One or two choices, which would include a Beyond Meat burger, is probably the only great protein option! Meat eaters get such a great choice, but with the rise in non meat eaters the choice here should be much greater. I don’t want to come to this standard of restaurant to eat a burger, I can go to McDonald’s down the road to The Lion Inn to get a Beyond Meat burger for a fraction of the cost. Mushrooms are NOT a substitute for protein, cause that’s normally all they have to offer as a second option. And I don’t even like mushrooms, so I’m stuck either way. You would have thought the ‘chefs’ would be more knowledgeable in this field and a much better selection of food should be there for their non meat eating customers. Even the Sunday lunch offers NO PROTEIN substitute for the meat. I have also found since the change of hands a few years ago The Lion Inn has gone down hill abit too. Waiting staff can be rude, forgetful, and not as accommodating or friendly as they use to be. I would very much doubt I would come back here unless the menu changes 100% for better vegan and vegetarian options and staff are trained more.

I was impressed with the vegan options at The Lion Inn, they have a whole vegan menu! The service and atmosphere were impeccable. The vegan food itself was just ok, nice roast but the mini mouse was very bitter- not for everyone. I will be back to try the other options.

Poor, visited last night for a family meal, upon arrival told that there was a 2 hour wait for a table. The waitress said we could stand at the bar, as there was insufficient seating for waiting customers! Car park gridlocked with too many cars. They really need to rethink their approach to their customer's experience and to accommodating seasonal fluctuations in numbers. We left and luckily secured a last minute booking at a different restaurant. Whatever you do disregard what they say on their website and do not visit without a definite booking.

Lovely stay made all the better by excellent friendly welcoming service from housekeeping to restaurant staff. Room and food all 5 star. Special mention to Arwen and the people on reception who welcomed us on arrival after a very stressful journey. Would thoroughly recommend.

Love The Lion, always amazing food and amazing service, everyone is so kind, welcoming and can't do enough for you. Have a decent size portion of Olives (forgot to take a picture before I started eating bit it was full) they were very tasty. I had the pork belly, which was amazing as usual and feel apart in my mouth. The Prawn cocktail and cheese board, also looked amazing, well presented and my guest, certainly enjoyed them.

First visit to the Lion Inn today for Sunday lunch. The staff were great, and the roast pork dinner was lovely! It was extremely busy so if you want somewhere for a quiet lunch, this may not be the place! Be warned you can’t book in advance on a Sunday. We will definitely be coming back (hopefully on a less busy day!!)

An unassuming place from the roadside but outstanding once in! From the inviting pub facade to the generous portions, this spot truly is about quality. Indulge in the delightful bread board or the perfect pork crackling; starters may seem unnecessary. The latte is a definite must-try. While the sides come at an extra cost, the Homemade Fish Pie and The Lion's Homemade Pie were an absolute delight, easily ranking among the best we've ever had. The service strikes a seamless balance - attentive and professional. The cozy ambiance is perfect for some Instagram-worthy shots. Remember, the kitchen starts taking orders at 12, but the wait is worth it. Consider arriving early or booking in advance on their website. Ample parking is an added bonus. Our bill for two amounted to approximately £65, excluding the tip. Already looking forward to our next visit for another delightful experience!

Went to a Charity Ball here on Saturday. What a fantastic venue. As you walk through the reception area into the bar, the place oozes class. The main hall and the tables were tastefully decorated, with ample room for the dance floor. The …
